Bennett: Cut rail and bus fares by 10%

"We will introduce an immediate cut in fares of 10% to give passengers a much-needed financial break."
Speaking in Liverpool in April 2015, Natalie Bennett said: “We’d cut train fares by 10% – paid for by reducing the amount of money we’re spending on major road building programmes.”

The pledge was featured in the Green Party 2015 Manifesto, launched earlier in April 2015.

Ms Bennett first made this promise in January 2015, during a speech in London: “I’m pleased to announce that included in the Green party’s 2015 general election manifesto will be funding to allow a 10% cut in the cost of public transport for passengers, giving the travelling public a much-needed financial break.”
