Cameron: No increase in VAT, National Insurance or Income Tax

 
"We will not raise VAT, National Insurance contributions or Income Tax."
During Prime Minister’s Questions in March 2015, David Cameron said: “I have ruled out VAT.”

When asked by Ed Miliband whether he would “rule out a rise in VAT”, Mr Cameron replied: “The answer is yes.”

From the Conservative manifesto: “We will not raise VAT, National Insurance contributions or Income Tax.”
