Clegg: Raise the Personal Tax Allowance to at least £12,500

"Fair taxes, with a further £400 tax cut for working people by raising the personal allowance to £12,500."
Nick Clegg unveiled this pledge as one of the “top priorities” at his party’s manifesto launch in April 2015.

From the Liberal Democrat manifesto: “Promise of more: Cut tax by £400 more, raising the personal allowance to at least £12,500.”

“In the next Parliament, we will cut your taxes further by raising the Personal Allowance to at least £12,500 by 2020. This will cut income tax by an extra £400 for more than 30 million people on low and middle incomes and take 950,000 people out of paying income tax altogether.”
